Duties & Responsibilities


1. Quality Assurance

Develop and improve Jibu’s quality management system, including training/capacity building, monitoring and enforcement with a focus on optimizing monitoring costs while achieving results.

Develop, improve, monitor, and enforce standard operating procedures.

Standardize and monitor testing protocols and best practices in all countries to ensure lab pass/fail rates meet KPIs.

Initiate and oversee product quality research, including shelf life analysis, packaging analysis, water wastage, input consumption, and more.

Evaluate OpCo Tech Reports to identify best practices and continuously raise standards across all countries.


2. Production Uptime

Maximize equipment uptime.

Develop, maintain, and coordinate equipment service schedules with JibuCo country teams and advise AMF partners.

Develop, maintain, and coordinate preventive maintenance schedules.

Develop, maintain, and train teams on troubleshooting guides and repair manuals, including interactive content and/or videos.

Evaluate OpCo P&Q Reports to identify avoidable downtime issues, excessive or unnecessary spare part usage, and align best practices to reduce operational costs.


3. Site and Production System Design

Continuously improve WTS design and component selection to reduce costs and avoid common maintenance issues.

Develop on-site solutions to address different raw water sources.

Evaluate WTS functionality and market developments to guide major design improvements.

Review maintenance records and feedback to improve design specifications and reduce future maintenance costs.

Coordinate add-on projects to enhance WTS functionality, monitoring, and integration with Jibu enterprise systems.

Develop implementation plans to systematically apply hardware and process changes across all sites.


4. International Expansion

Coordinate raw water sample testing and taste testing for new markets.

Advise and lead equipment selection for new and expanding markets.

Develop how-to guidelines and manuals to support international partners.

Act as a point of contact for partner technical support to ensure machine uptime.

Develop and implement Water Safety Plans for new markets.

Train partners in operator certification, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.


5. Capacity Building and Training

Develop troubleshooting techniques, repair, and maintenance standards.

Develop and maintain equipment manuals, quality control visuals, and technical documentation.

Establish a multi-level operator certification program.

Provide training support to AMF partners.

Develop and maintain training curricula and evaluation programs.


6. Laboratory Operations

Establish and oversee laboratory operations in all countries.

Develop procedures and manuals to maintain certified lab operations.

Oversee laboratory staff training programs.


7. Research and New Product Development

Conduct research and provide technical specifications for new products.

Coordinate design processes with expert third parties.

Manage prototype development and evaluations.

Support technical aspects of new product development projects.


8. Operational Excellence and OpCo Support

Support OpCos in achieving OSHA compliance.

Develop SOPs for JibuCo and franchise technical teams.

Standardize production design and processes.

Advise on best practices for managing regulator relationships.


9. Administration and Planning

Advise on spare parts forecasting.

Monitor spare parts consumption and accountability.

Maintain tracking systems.

Oversee operator certifications.

Evaluate quality audit results and report to senior management.


Supervision Received

The role operates autonomously with general supervision from the COO.


Qualifications

Master’s degree in engineering, quality management, or a related technical field.

Minimum of 5 years management-level experience in water engineering, production management, or product design.

Proven self-directed learning ability.

Experience working in emerging markets.

Strong team player with a passion for impact.

Experience working with regulators.

Proficient in English; Swahili or French an advantage.

Willingness to travel.
