Job Purpose

This position is responsible for leading a rapidly growing company to make a profit while also making a big social impact. The Country Manager is responsible for the country's P&L, management of the country team and franchise network, and accountable for achievement of results against country targets.

Supervision Received

This position works highly autonomously, being a leader to the country team and holding them accountable to targets and strategy set.

Duties & Responsibilities

Business planning and execution

  1. Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute annual and quarterly business plans, budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation.
  2. Translate strategy into clear weekly priorities and ensure on-time execution.

Financial management and AR discipline

  1. Develop annual budgets for the business as well as monitor financial performance against key metrics such as revenue growth and EBITDA and implement cost-control measures as needed to ensure profitability.
  2. Own cash collection performance and working capital discipline.
  3. Run weekly AR reviews (franchise and corporate), enforce payment terms, control credit exposure, escalate overdue accounts on time, and ensure approved exceptions are documented.

Business performance management

  1. Lead weekly performance reviews for volumes, revenue, margins, customer service, and route productivity.
  2. Identify gaps early and implement corrective actions.

Franchise governance and compliance

  1. Ensure every franchise agreement uses the correct approved template and appendix pack, all schedules/appendices are complete, and fully executed by the franchisee and JibuCo.
  2. Ensure franchise performance management initiatives, i.e. probation reviews, cure notices, warnings, are conducted, documented, and filed.

Franchise Network Expansion and Development

  1. Identify and evaluate potential franchise partners, support negotiation and onboarding, and ensure readiness criteria (capitalization, compliance, systems, training) are met before handover.
  2. Build and maintain trust-based relationships with franchisees while enforcing brand, financial, and compliance standards consistently. Use structured cure notices, prepay arrangements, and approved escalation pathways.
  3. Ensure effective training for franchisees and staff on brand standards, quality, customer experience, financial discipline, and use of the Jibu System.

People leadership and team management

  1. Lead, coach, and hold the Ghana team accountable through clear goals, delegation, and regular follow-up.
  2. Develop team leads/managers, reduce avoidable attrition, and address underperformance promptly using documented performance management processes.

Sales and commercial execution

  1. Drive growth across franchise and company-owned stores.
  2. Ensure timely implementation and refinement of sales programs based on field feedback and results.

Operations oversight (through managers)

  1. Ensure operational excellence and adherence to brand standards across all locations.
  2. Support problem-solving and prioritization without micromanaging day-to-day operations.

Stakeholder and regulator management

  1. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, regulators, and key stakeholders.
  2. Respond to issues promptly and professionally, escalating significant risks early.
  3. Serve as the primary point of contact for franchisees as well as government stakeholders and address any issues or concerns in a timely and effective manner.

Experience Requirements

  1. Ghanaian national with 5+ years of business experience, including 3+ years in senior management with P&L accountability.
  2. Country P&L ownership — experience managing full country-level P&L, including revenue targets, cost control, margin management, EBITDA, and financial reporting to group leadership.
  3. Multi-site operations experience in distribution, retail, FMCG, franchising, or comparable service networks — West Africa/emerging market context preferred.
  4. Strong financial management skills — budgeting, cash flow, AR/credit control, and performance analysis.
  5. Proven commercial results — track record of driving business growth while maintaining compliance and operational discipline.
  6. Leadership through managers — ability to delegate, build accountable teams, and develop diverse talent.
  7. Stakeholder management experience — regulators, landlords, suppliers, and strategic partners.
  8. Entrepreneurial mindset — creative problem-solver focused on growth, cost management, and continuous improvement.
  9. Strong judgment under pressure — able to escalate risks early with proposed solutions.
  10. Excellent communication skills — able to align local teams with regional and cross-functional leadership.
  11. Tech-savvy and data-driven — proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  12. Fluent in English; additional local language(s) are an advantage.
